Bistro Gama, a tasteful Italian restaurant
서울먹거리

As I walk along the alley in Yeonnam-dong, I often see cute restaurants.

It looks like a cozy place for a date.

It's small but stylish interior. It's quiet because it's early in the evening, but I feel like I should make a reservation.

When I sat down, I happened to see the beer poster next to the front door.

First, I ordered Gaffel SonnenHopfen beer.

Unusual menu items are intriguing, so I ordered puttanesca pasta. I guess the asterisk next to the menu name means it's the signature menu.

The scent of fruit is fresh and soft.

Do you see the deer on the label? It's also called Bambi beer.

While waiting for my pasta, they gave me this for a beer snack.

It's a bit salty, so it was perfect to have with beer.

I searched web for the meaning of puttanesca and found a interesting story.

A prostitute's pasta sauce.

Some say it's because prostitutes make it and eat it themselves, and some say it's because of the strong aroma of the sauce.

The main ingredients of puttanesca pasta are tomatoes and anchovies(European anchovies).

It's a kind of oil pasta, but the sauce is never light.

The pasta in Naples may not be easy for people from U.S. and England. But, Korean people who are used to spicy fish stew can enjoy the taste of it.

This restaurant is closed on Mondays, and unfortunately, they don't open on lunch these days because of COVID-19 situation.

It is located inside the alley about 10 minutes walk from exit 3 of Hongik University station on Airport line.
