The Gangneung Coffee Festival is an annual event normally held in early October. The festival celebrates the emerging coffee culture of Gangneung-si, a city that in recent years has welcomed in famous coffee chains and artisan coffee shops. Currently, the city is populated by a whopping 200 coffee shops (30 of which roast their own beans) and 7 coffee academies. The festival celebrates the scenic city’s past and present culture with a variety of coffee-related events such as exhibitions, photo exhibitions, coffee-making and coffee bean-roasting experience programs, coffee art, and more. Coffee entrepreneurs can also sign up for onsite seminars about the coffee industry.
