When I found out the taste of a class of beer after taking a shower on a hot summer day, I felt like I am finally an adult. I prefer it to be soft in my throat, so I classified soft carbonated beer as delicious beer. 'Devil's Door' is a beer bar that presents the flavor of craft beer.
It's located at the end of the Famille Station, which is connected to Gangnam Express Terminal. You can find it if you pass the walkway connected to the station, but you have to walk quite a bit wondering, because there is no signpost indicating Devil's Door in Famille Station. Also, be aware that you have to go through the outdoor passageway in the middle.
It was around 2 p.m. on a weekday when the hot afternoon sun shines down and make me sweat and thirsty. I arrived at Devil's Door at the right time when I started to need a glass of cold beer.
The price of the main menu is shown at the entrance. Usually liquor bars open late in the afternoon, but Devil's Door is open early because it has menu such as pizza and salad. It's marked as 'general restaurant'.
Devil's Door was open until 1 a.m. on weekends, but now they close earlier because of COVID-19 situation.
Inside the front door, there is another spacious entrance with antique warehouse style. There is a counter and a rack displaying various goods of Devil's Door at this second entrance. Usually, the servers here are foreigners. Of course they are fluent in Korean. I think it's to make guests feel like they are visiting a brewery in Germany.
Passing a little dim entrance, there is a huge factory-style interior. The windows are large and also there are windows on the ceiling, so there is no need for lighting even though it is an indoor space It is still daytime but there are guests who are having family meals or enjoying beer.

They have quite a variety of meals as well as beer. I didn't try but spinach pizza is famous among their meal menus. I decided to try some craft beer. I don't like bitter taste, so I chose Dark Weizen and Hefeweizen.
It's an open kitchen, and it's a double-decker with seats on top of the kitchen.
Those huge tanks are full of beers, and it makes me feel like I have a good backing and happy.
The beer I ordered is here. The color is so nice that it's luxurious. The price varies by size, and this is Irish size which is 8,000 won. A glass of craft beer costs as six cans of beer.
Dark Weizen is black beer with a color in the middle of coffee and coke. I chose it because I usually like the soft taste of Guiness. Rather than a soft texture as Guiness, it has a deep and bitter taste like dark chocolate or hand drip coffee.
Hefeweizen tastes rich and fresh. It's like a cake made of malt. It's very nicely silk smooth when I swallow.
I only had beer because I had lunch before this visit. I think it was a good choice because I could enjoy the taste of beer itself without any snacks. Even though the proof is similar to commercial beer, craft beer feels a little more tipsify.
