Kim Jin-hwan's bakery, a legend in plain bread

I heard that there is a bakery which is famous for its legendary plain bread somewhere in Donggyo-dong alley.

It's the most basic bread of all, but it seems rare to see a bakery that boasts of being good at plain bread.

The owner of this place graduated from 'ECOLE DE PATISSERIE DE TOKIO(Tokyo baking school)' and made bread for more than 20 years.

I visited this bakery early in the morning.

That's an old, but neat sign.

I didn't search web before I visit, so I expected the size of a large franchise bakery, but I was totally wrong.

It must be a store that I can only take out.

The menu is simple. That's why I'm looking forward to it. It's like a decades-old gomtang(beef-bone soup) restaurant.

I'm ordering milk bread, walnut mocha bread, and chestnut bread.

Milk bread is sold as whole and sliced.

Was it around 9 in the morning?

There's a lot of bread on the shelves and there was customers already buing them.

The bakery opens at 8 in the morning, so I understand how people want to buy fresh baked bread.

The thing I know about plain bread is, good bread does not mix water when it is made.

So, if you rip a poor bread, it feels like a paper rip, and a good bread feels like a chicken breast rip.

This milk bread sure is legendary. It's soft and delicious even without spreading the bread with anything or drinking anything with it.

I was surprised by the rich amount of chestnut in this chestnut bread.

Elderly people will like it.

Walnut mocha bread has a great aroma of coffee and chewy walnut. This must be a favorite of children.

I like both chestnut bread and walnut mocha bread, but the best is milk bread.

It was chewy enough to spring to my mind every morning.

I searched web while eating bread at home and this Kim Jin-hwan's bakery was also introduced in Vogue magazine and other media.

It's open from early in the morning to afternoon without day out.

10 minutes walk from exit 8 of Sinchon Station.
