Pyeongyang Myeonok, Pyeongyang naengmyeon is the best in Jangchung-dong

Uijeongbu and Jangchung-dong are famous for Pyeongyang naengmyeon.

My parents have been regular customers of Pyeongyang Myeonok in Jangchung-dong. Because of that, I think of Jangchung-dong for Pyeongyang naengmyeon.

Valet parking is charged, but it is convenient because there is a dedicated parking lot.

It seems to be a mechanical parking lot right next to the building.

I heard that it has been a family business for generations from Pyeongyang.

Most of the ingredients are domestic, so most of the dishes are not cheap.

In fact, if you are not a fan of Pyeongyang naengmyeon, the basic price of 12,000 won may seem very expensive.

Surprisingly, Pyeongyang naengmyeon is mostly sought by senior people, but since a few years ago, more young people seem to enjoy the delicacy of Pyeongyang naengmyeon.

Is it a reaction to many restaurants that try to attract customers with their stimulating taste?

The room is clean and bright. It's early evening, so I thought there were only a few tables of guests. I thought it might be because of COVID-19 situation. Especially the elderly should be more careful.

But it turns out that a lot of tables are already booked.

The group reservation customers may not just come to eat naengmyeon, but to eat special dishes like eobokjaengban(meats and vegetables in a copper casserole with a beef broth).

As a side dish, kimchi and pickled radish are served. It tastes bland, perhaps because it is intended not to mess up the taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon. That water in a cup is hot water that boiled with buckwheat noodle and it comforts your stomach.

The smell of buckwheat is coming up from the water.

First of all, there is something coming to my mind when I taste the soup.

One of the reasons why we insist on domestic ingredients is that we are sensitive about the taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon that we don't allow a subtle difference.

It tastes neat rather than being sophisticated.

It takes a long time to get used to this taste, but when you get used to it, you think about it even while sleeping.

It's open from lunch to dinner every day.

It's on the side of the boulevard about 10 minutes from exit 4 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station.
