Junglimjang seolleongtang, a 50 year old tradition
서울먹거리
Last Modified : 2020/07/07

I heard that there is a long standing seolleongtang restaurant near Seoul Station, but it was actually near Chungjeongno Station.

The entrance is standing a little inward. so I almost walked by the side of the street.

Some old restaurants have been making money for years and reopening from new buildings, but this place feels like it's keeping the old simplicity intact.

It's a small restaurant and kind of hidden in the alley, so I think there must be many regular customers.

There must be people dislike the smell of boiling meat and bones from the restaurant, but I think even this smell is the personality of this kind of old restaurant.

The menu is simple enough to memorize once you see it, and it makes me that it sure is a specialty restaurant.

I ordered dogani-tang(ox knee soup) and seokbakji(cabbage, radish and cucumber kimchi), kimchi and sauce for dogani-tang came out.

I searched web and found that if you order basic soup, it will be served with rice in the soup, and if you order the special soup, it will be served with rice separately.

First of all, what I find interesting is that unlike the strong smell in the store, the soup tastes neat.

The amount of meat is good, the kimchi and seokbakji goes well with the soup.

I'd like to have a glass of soju with boiled oxtail meat next time.

They open early in the morning until late in the evening and there is a break time in the afternoon.
