Many people eat bread in the morning these days. It's been a while since I replaced my breakfast with bread. Having bread for a breakfast instead of rice is more light and mild, and perhaps that's why It's getting popular. I visited Bonanza Bakery, a small bakery in Seongsu-dong which is famous for its hard types of breads made of organic flour.

It says 'no butter, sugar, milk, eggs', 'baked with organic flour ripened long time at low-temperature' on the sign. I'm curious how it tastes without those delicious ingredients.

It's a small bakery, and about 70% of the space is kitchen and the register. A small bench for two people is the only seat, which means you can only take-out.

The fist thing I see as I enter the bakery is the fresh breads displayed in the glass case. Hard type breads such like whole wheat bread, baguettes, and ciabattas are somehow similar with rice. We hardly get tired of them.

Most of the space is where the bread is made. I see a huge oven and a cutting board. The visible spaces were well organized.

I've chosen the breads with 'Best' tag and some unique breads. It's 3500~4500 won each, reasonable price.

A cheese ball. If you heat it up a little, the cheese in the bread melts slightly, so you can taste the cheese flavor deeper. The texture is rough and a bit sticky, the more you chew, the more savory the cheese is.

This is 'Nachoco(I'm chocolate)' a bread with a cute name. It's literally a black brown bread with chocolate chips in it. I think it would be good to eat with white milk.

This is cranberry walnut bread. The freshness of the cranberry welcomes me, and the nutty taste of the walnut completes its flavor.

This is fig walnut bread.Rich amount of figs are in it. Because of figs, it's rather havier and has more chewy texture than other breads.

Ciabatta would be good if eat with olive balsamic sauce or make sandwich with it rather than eating it as it is. If you are about to eat various kinds of bread, you should have ciabatta first so you can enjoy the subtle taste of it.

Bonanza's bread is, in short, 'breads like rice'.
