There is Oeam folk village in Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do which was created 500 years ago. About 80 families still live in thatched house and tile-roofed house. The village is No. 236 important folklore material. It looks like an artificial village like Korean Folk Village. But some houses are named “Champandaek”, “Byeongsadaek”, “Gamchaldaek”, “Chambongdaek”, “Youngamdaek” and “Jongsondaek”. “Oeam” was named after the name of Lee Gan, the scholar in the Joseon dynasty period. Now, here we go!

Small brook is flowing in front of ticket office. It looks more wonderful after it is frozen and covered with snow. The village is with back to the mountain and facing the water (favored location). An artificial waterway was made in the middle of the village, so garden and pond could be made.

Everything was frozen due to cold wave recently. Flowing water and waterwheel were frozen.

It has been changed from autumn to winter. Thatched-roof house covered with white snow is so beautiful. Do you want to see the autumn scenery?

It is the scenery of autumn last year. I miss the warm sunlight at that time.

Alley is curved and endless. I wonder what exists at the end. Low stone wall covered with snow is lovely.

The icicle hanging on the roof of thatched house looks gorgeous. Somebody would live in the house. I envy him or her.

I can hear the sound of dog from a distance. She acts charming to me. So I stroked her head.

I departed to see the alley again. Tree is beautiful and Millstone looks awesome.

Champandaek is the biggest building in Oeam Folk Village. Lee Jeong-ryeol was given the house from King Gojong. It is certain that it is the house of yangban of high station. Lee Jeong-ryeol's offspring is still living here. I should look around quietly.

The roof of thatched house is so friendly. My father made the roof of thatched house in his childhood. I miss my father.

I feel like an old citizen coming out at the end of the alley. Wall is built to protect house. And it makes me feel comfortable.

What happened? Are those small birds fighting against each other because of feed?

This is my favorit place in Oeam folk village. I am in front of Gunjae old house. Oeam Lee Gan, the Confucian scholar in the late Joseon period, was born in this house. I heard that the garden is so wonderful. But I cannot go inside because somebody lives in the house. Ginkgo tree in front of the house looks gorgeous in fall.

Like this. I took this picture in the early autumn last year. The ground is covered with yellow fallen leaves in late fall. Small brook is flowing in front of ginkgo tree. It is used for the water for living.

Thatched house is open. Wow! I can see Jangdokdae and soybeans. I cannot go inside because someone is living. But I like to look beyond the wall. It would be hard to make Jangdokdae and soybeans, but it would be very fun.

I couldn't see a lot of people as it was snowy day. Some people looked around taking a camera. Low stone wall and thatched house are well matched. There is 600 years old zelkova tree in front of the hose. It is 21 meters high. I could take a picture of it from a far distance.

I couldn't visit the downtown due to the heavy snow. But you can enjoy food and events after walking about five minutes. Oeam folk village is the good place to take a picture and take a walk. The scenery changes with the seasons. Oh, you should have delicious food in the restaurants of downtown or folk village.
