There is a special place in Nambu Market in Jeonju where you can find talented young people. It is “Young Man Mall”, which has 30 stores although it started from only two stores in 2011. The place is neither tourist attraction nor the mall supported by the government. It is never the place to make a huge amount of money. “Young Man Mall” is the place for those who want to do what they want. The second rooftop of the conventional market, which was once ruined, has been filled with small shops. Now, here we go!

You can find “Young Man Mall” after going up to the second floor from the alley of the conventional market. It is not hard to find it since there are a lot of signposts like “the road to Young Man Mall” everywhere and a number of entrances. The red word at the entrance catches my eyes. “Make money moderately, but live splendidly.” “One Young Man Mall is equivalent to ten department stores.” They are highly individual.

I have been to Nambu Market in Jeonju for several times, but I have never thought about going up to the second floor. Well, I can feel the sense of artists. It is a little bit deserted in the day afternoon, but it is crowded with a lot of people on weekends.

There are 30 small but pretty cafes on the second floor. I feel great just looking at them. Why don't you buy something for modest young people? Shabby place has changed to wonderful place. Wow!

I wanted to eat some sweets in “Omedalda”. But it is closed, unfortunately. All stores are open on the weekends, though.

It is so funny just looking around entrances of stores and signposts. I wonder what it is in “gooseflesh props shop”. And I am interested in the toilet without Kleenex. :-)

Many stores attract customers with funny and sensible words. “It is not just for men. Women would go crazy after eating it”, “I cannot buy you a luxury bag, but I can buy you a pocket”. They are so intriguing.

I have been to many stores run by witty young people. But walking this street is just pleasant. You would be fall in love with the alley even after walking for one minute. :-)

Handicraft Workshop is also fantastic. I bought the spiderman accessory for my wife as she looked at it for a while. :-)

“Young Man Mall” is separated with restaurants, shopping shops and fun stores. There are various stores like cafe, restaurant, dessert, props, accessory, organic cosmetic products, art galley, pet shop, stationery, fortunetellers, etc. It looks desirable that they live their life as they want even though they cannot make a lot of money.

Right. The life is like a springtime fantasy. We don't need to struggle. Some people may not agree with my idea, though.

I cannot visit “Sunzasi bap jeo” restaurant due to the lunch reservation in other restaurant. But I really want to go there, and have a meal and drink in the daytime. If you stay nearby, you woud better spend night here.

“Miss Huh stationery” catches my eyes. It seems to sell junk foods and memorable items. Here we go!

Wow! It is full of junk foods and toys in my childhood. The price is also reasonable. It just costs 1,000 won for several items.

I can see some snacks like “Zaya” and “V cone” that I have forgotten about. They are made of cones. I want to drink makgeolli with them. :-)

I find funny words like “The precious daughter of someone”. Right. Even though the owner runs a shabby stationery, we must treat her politely.

There are some pay envelopes at the counter. The owner gives me one as I pay attention on it. My wife would be happy when I give it with some money. She would not throw away the envelope, right? :-)

It is so vintage. It is the best place to take a picture, too.

These are junk foods from Miss Huh stationery. Mat train. It is also called “Jjondeugi”. Some have honey inside. I bought a Apollo, Zaya and V cone. They just cost 2,000 won! They are not delicious but remind me of my childhood.

Why don't you drop by “Young People Mall”, the second floor of Nambu Market during the trip to Jeonju? You would have funny time with young and witty traders. It is must go place! Oh, most stores are closed on Monday, so you would better visit other days.
