Dolmen Museum:
Dolmen Park road 74, Gochang-eup, Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do
I headed to Dolmen Museum that I wanted to visit after getting out of Seonunsa temple. I arrived at the ticket office, but it was closed on Monday. It became hard to look around the museum. But I got a good opportunity to see dolmens for free because they are displayed outside.
There are dolmens on the right side of the entrance.
The two small stones supporting the tomb under the right side were so distinctive. I wonder how people in the past found this huge stone and made a large tomb.
There are restored prehistory village on the right so that you can understand the people in the age and their life style.
Dugout huts in the Bronze Age are divided to circle and rectangle.
Leathers are being manufactured. Clothes were made of the leathers after people peeled the hide of animals.
Geumpyeong-ri dolmen is slightly different from Gyesan-ri dolmen. It looks more stable.
You can find the third course of Gochang Dolmen site after walking 800 meters more over the bridge.
It
looks like a cemetery since there are several dolmens on the low
hill.
You can look around famous camellia flowers in Seonunsa temple and the best garden in Korea, and enjoy delicious freshwater eels in Gochang. You can also think about the life of ancestors while looking around dolmens. I could find the life of modern people from the past. The journey was so good lesson and pleasant.
