Jinhae Gyeonghwa Station (1200, Gyeonghwa-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do)

Gyeonghwa Station which became famous for the cherry blossoms of Gyeongsangnam-do. is a small flag stop in Gyeonghwa-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. Railway services have been discontinued since 2006. It's located between Seongjusa Station and Jinhae Station. Rows of cherry trees bloom along the railway. This station is the landmark of cherry blossom pictures with Anmin Hill or Jinhae Yeojwacheon Bridge. You can freely walk around the railway where the flowers are in full bloom. When the cherry blossoms falls, you can enjoy fantastic romance with the train and blossoms. Cherry blossoms around the 800 meter-long railway extending from the Gyeonghwa station all the way to Sehwa Girls’ High School attract many couples and families. You can leisurely enjoy the blossoms here than in Yeojwa Stream. The area is often featured in Korean movies and dramas such as the film 'Boy Goes to Heaven' and the drama 'Spring Waltz'.

In every cherry blossom time, the number of tourists gradually grows. Since 2009, the railway services are temporarily reopened only during Gunhang(naval port) festival. At the festival, the shuttle bus is run and all the trains that pass by this station slow down the speed to allow tourists to fully enjoy the romance of the cherry blossoms. Recently, clean washrooms are installed, as well. One thing that you need to remember is that you should follow instructions of guide and pay attention to train alarm sounds, because trains cross this railway.
